Taking a plain backyard and giving it color with tropical landscaping.

When our client in St. Petersburg, FL reached out to us, they wanted to make their pool home's backyard as beautiful as the rest of their property. They already had a white fence bordering their property and gorgeous round pool, but the landscaping is what really lacked. We came up with a design, helped them choose plants, and create a wonderful backyard design.

Using properly spaced palms, shrubs, and plants with variable height and color create both unity and proportion in your landscape design.

Multiple palm trees created the tropical feel.

No Florida landscape is complete without palm trees, especially in this renowned area of Pinellas County. For this installation, we planted over a dozen palm trees, perfectly spaced and laid out! We used mostly Traveler Palms, and completed the corners of the design with Double Foxtail Palms. This choice of palms created the right balance and proportion to the property and other plants in the design.

Some of Florida's most sought-after shrubs and plants handled the color.

If you've seen any luxury properties in the area, then you know that color is of great importance. We used some of the most popular and beautiful shrubs and flowers including the colorful Petra Croton, along with Pink Hibiscus. However, it was the Orange Bird of Paradise plants that created the unity with the entire design.

The ground cover final touches.

To complete this design, we installed black-dyed color mulch at 2-3 inches thick throughout, which not only adds beauty, but will help fight weeds and retaining soil moisture. Besides just the mulch in the landscape beds, we also installed new metal edging with Polished Mexican Beach Pebble Stone in the walkway that already existed in the pool area.
